TESTAMENT/SADUS Bassist Confirms Brazilian THRASH OF THE TITANS Appearance
February 22, 2002TESTAMENT/SADUS bassist Steve DiGiorgio has confirmed the two bands' involvement in the upcoming South American installment of the Thrash Of The Titans festival, which is presently scheduled to take place on April 20th in Sao Paulo, Brazil. According to DiGiorgio, we just signed the performance agreements [for SADUS to take part in the event]so now it feels totally official! Me and [SADUS drummer] Jon Allen will also be playing for TESTAMENT that night. But we did that same thing back in August for the original Thrash Of The Titans, so we know the deal. But hey! SADUS doesn't get out much these days (years),so we're really looking forward to jamming again. We get a decent set time, so we're thinking about pulling out an old one we haven't played in a while. We've also been thinking about getting [TESTAMENT frontman] Chuck Billy to come on stage and we can bust out one of me and [SADUS guitarist/vocalist] Darren [Travis]'s new tunes we're working on for the new [side project] album with Chuck. Maybe I'm too hopeful.
As previously reported, the tentatively-dubbed Thrash Of The Titans will take place at an as-yet-undisclosed Sao Paulo venue in front of an anticipated audience of 20,000. A total of 14 bands will perform on two different stages, among them the following: SEPULTURA, MACHINE HEAD, TESTAMENT, ANTHRAX, EXODUS (featuring vocalist Steve Zetro Souza),VIO-LENCE, DEATH ANGEL, SADUS, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM (featuring vocalist Eric A.K.) and HEATHEN. According to informed sources, the event with run from noon until about 2:00 AM, and will include performances from various homegrown metal acts in addition to the above-mentioned artists. Venue information and additional details are due to be announced in the coming weeks.
