THE AXIS OF PERDITION Replace KHOLD At London's 'A Cold Night In Hell 2006' Festival
December 11, 2005THE AXIS OF PERDITION have replaced KHOLD on the billing of British cyber/black metal act ANAAL NATHRAKH's first gig ever, which will take place at The Underworld in London, England on December 15 as part of Terrorizer magazine's "A Cold Night In Hell 2006" festival. Also scheduled to appear on the bill are TED MAUL and LEECH WOMAN. No reason was given for KHOLD's cancellation.
Commented THE AXIS OF PERDITION guitarist Michael Blenkarn: "As with all things AXIS, this opportunity has come up at the 11th hour. Hopefully reallity won't suffer too much. I and the others are looking forward to playing together with the 'THRAKH."
ANAAL NATHRAKH will also play the following day in Birmingham with RAMESSES and NARCOSIS at Edwards No. 8. The lineup of bands on this show was picked personally by ANAAL NATHRAKH. Both shows will have a full live lineup completed by Ventnor on guitar, Shane Embury (NAPALM DEATH, LOCK UP, WARHAMMER) on bass and Danny Herrera (NAPALM DEATH, VENOMOUS CONCEPT) on drums.
THE AXIS OF PERDITION recently postponed their previously announced U.K. tour "because of intractable work commitments," according to a statement released by the band.
Formed in 2001 as a duo by Brooke Johnson and Blenkarn, THE AXIS OF PERDITION's second full-length effort, "Deleted Scenes from the Transition Hospital", was released earlier in the year via Code666 Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Corridors" (Rage of Achilles Records) was recorded using a drum computer following the departure of drummer Dan Mullins due to "personal reasons."
