THE DRESDEN DOLLS To Open For NINE INCH NAILS On North American Tour

March 2, 2005

THE DRESDEN DOLLS have just been announced as the sole opening act on NINE INCH NAILS' upcoming North American tour. Hand-picked by Trent Reznor, the critically acclaimed DRESDEN DOLLS will appear on the entire tour, playing two nights in 15 major cities across North America including New York, Chicago, and San Francisco. In addition, the tour will make a special stop on May 1st for a performance at the Coachella Muisc & Arts Festival in Indio, CA.

Released independently in Spring 2004, THE DRESDEN DOLLS' self-titled debut album will be re-released by Roadrunner Records on April 26. Fontana, a new arm of Universal, will be handling distribution. A developing artist phenomenon, sales of the indie album have climbed steadily over the months since release, to where 60,000 copies have sold to date through mom-and-pop shops and smaller chains. The re-issue will widen its visibility and availability. The band will release a second single "Girl Anachronism" in April, timed to coincide with the tour.

THE DRESDEN DOLLS are excited to hit the road with NINE INCH NAILS and make new friends. "We're honored as can be to be sharing the stage with NINE INCH NAILS," says pianist/vocalist Amanda Palmer. “We've been touring extensively and selling out venues around the world, but this is the logical step up and aesthetically, a perfect one. Many of our fans are also fans of NIN and we hope those that don't know us will be quickly converted."
