THE DUKE: Three Complete Album Tracks Available For Download
March 29, 2005FOZZY/STUCK MOJO guitarist Rich Ward has uploaded three complete tracks from his upcoming solo album (under THE DUKE banner) at his official web site. Download the songs "I Give to You", "Immune" and "Used to Be" at this location.
Commented Ward: "From this point on we will add two additional songs to the media section of the DUKE site each week until the entire record is up! The first three tunes can be downloaded and are yours to keep just 'cuz I love ya. The rest of the tunes will be streamed and will allow you to preview the record at a reasonably good quality.
"But wait, there's more! For those who just can't wait until the CD's release date, the entire 'Mu Kung Fu Is Good' record will be available on iTunes the week before the street date. All of us here at The Duke Center For Battered Musicians or, if you will, the DCFBM, would like to thank you and sincerely hope that you will enjoy these jams as much as we enjoyed recording them.
"This message has been brought to you by THE DUKE and the record company who gave him the cash to make this record, Eagle/Spitfire."
Due May 3 via Spitfire Records, "My Kung-Fu Is Good", sees Ward taking a slightly different direction to his other projects. Whereas STUCK MOJO and FOZZY are instantly recognizable by Ward's brutal riffage, THE DUKE takes a more melodic approach and focuses on the songwriting. Tracks like "Used To Be", "Running" and "The Way" show the maturity of Ward as a songwriter. "My Kung-Fu Is Good" also sees Rich take up vocal duty to what will surely establish him as not only a guitar hero but also a brilliant singer and songwriter.
