THE GATHERING Drummer: 'So Many Flavors To Choose From, We Need Our Time'

October 18, 2007

THE GATHERING drummer Hans Rutten has issued the following update:

"First of all, thanks so much for all the response we received concerning our upcoming DVD release 'A Noise Severe'. So many people ordered the package on our webshop, really unbelievable! On behalf of all of us: thanks!

"Not so good news; we had some mastering problems which we hope are solved now, and will be on time to send out all orders end of October/beginning of November [people who ordered will receive a notification when products are shipped]. We think the whole recordings, both audio and image, is beyond our expectation. A beautiful ending of a GATHERING chapter which we are proud of.

"If you can't wait and want to see a glimpse; there will be held some GATHERING 'A Noise Severe' DVD release parties in Berlin (November 3rd),Santiago (somewhere end of November) and Mexico city (November 17th). I am sure you will find more info on our own message board.

"What else? What are we doing besides working on the DVD? Well, René is working and playing live with DRIVE BY WIRE and VJ-ing Frank's project GRIMM LIMBO. Frankie is a busy guy with GL, and is currently working on a vinyl release. Marjolein is working a bit, saving money to go travelling the end of this year. I am also working, in a hospital. Refreshing our inner self by doing some other things, wonderful! That doesn't mean THE GATHERING is doing nothing. We do work on some new songs, and we're still busy which direction to take. It's not an easy task, and we don't want to do things in a hurry. Nothing decided yet. So many flavours to choose from, we need our time."

THE GATHERING singer Anneke van Giersbergen announced her departure from the band earlier in the year. She has launched a brand new project called AGUA DE ANNIQUE, which will release an album called "Air" at the end of October.

THE GATHERING released its latest album, "Home", in April 2006 on The End Records.
