THE PANIC CHANNEL Guitarist Checks In From ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA Tour
January 18, 2007THE PANIC CHANNEL guitarist Dave Navarro (ex-JANE'S ADDICTION) has issued the following update:
"We are two dates into [our] tour [with ROCK STAR SUPERNOVA] and it's already starting to flow. We hit Hollywood, Florida and Orlando, and both shows were a lot of fun. We have been changing up the set from night to night with 'Night One', 'Why Cry', 'Blue Bruises', 'Highway To Hell'... Just finding the right pace. [New member] Siggy [Sjursen, ex-POWERMAN 5000] is kicking ass on bass and has brought a lot to the live show. Everyone on the tour is super-friendly and it seems like this is going to go by all too quick. Toby [Rand, 'Rock Star Supernova' finalist] and JUKE CARTEL do a great job opening the show and the ladies definitely love Toby! Then Dilana [another 'Rock Star Supernova' finalist] comes out for a couple of acoustic songs and her voice is just so captivating that it penetrates every heart in the room. We do our thing for about 45 minutes, which, given the size of the room and the fact that most of the audience hasn't heard us, feels like a perfect amount of time. Hit it and quit it, we say. Of course, we play for about an hour and 15 at our own shows. [Steve] Isaacs [vocals] has really hit a new level on this tour and I think that playing to the big rooms really suites him. The sound on stage is so perfect for us, thanks to SUPERNOVA's monitor engineer, that it actually feels like we are living in our record up there. Then SUPERNOVA comes on... LOUDLY! One of the loudest bands I have ever heard for sure. Tommy [Lee] is fucking ridiculous on the drums as we all know and this show is no different. Lukas [Rossi] has been singing great and he looks perfect up there at all times. The production on stage is pretty amazing too. It's rad... We all know that there are a lot of shit-talkers about the whole TV concept and there always will be... But the bottom line is: We are on tour bringing it every night! The bad news is that I forgot to pack my microphone to make podcasts, but Isaacs promises he has a work-around. We are just getting started anyway!"
THE PANIC CHANNEL's debut album, "(ONe)", sold more than 8,000 copies in the United States in its first week of release last August to land at position No. 108 on The Billboard 200 chart. The CD was produced by Josh Abraham, whose resume includes such multi-platinum artists as KORN, COURTNEY LOVE, LIMP BIZKIT and VELVET REVOLVER, among others. Mixing duties were handled by Ryan Williams, who has previously worked with veteran producer Brendan O'Brien.
