THE QUILL To Begin Recording New Album This Week
August 31, 2005Sweden's THE QUILL will enter Area 51 studios in Celle, Germany on Thursday (September 1) with producer Tommy Newton (VICTORY, UFO, HELLOWEEN) to begin recording their new album for a tentative early 2006 release via SPV/Steamhammer Records. 13 new songs will be recorded for the CD, including "Trespass", "Rock and Roll Might Be Dead", "Slave/Master" and "Triumph Is a Sea of Flames".
THE QUILL recently announced the addition of bassist Robert Triches to the group's ranks. Triches joins THE QUILL as the replacement for Roger Nilsson (ex-SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, FIREBIRD),who left the band in May after almost 12 years and four albums.
THE QUILL's fourth album, entitled "Hooray! It's a Deathtrip", was released in September 2003 through SPV Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Voodoo Caravan" was produced by Rickard Bengtsson (SPIRITUAL BEGGARS, ARCH ENEMY) and mixed by Daniel Bergstrand (IN FLAMES, MESHUGGAH).
