U.K.'s THE QUIREBOYS have issued the following update:

"Looks like a busy year... a full U.K. major venue tour will shortly be announced for November/December with at least a couple of festival appearances in the summer. Many festivals being booked in Europe... gigs in Germany, Italy, Scandanavia and France will shortly be announced. There are also plans to record an acoustic album and also a live acoustic concert DVD."

EMI Records last year released "The Best Of" from THE QUIREBOYS, a double CD of material from the band's EMI-era recordings. It contains many previously unreleased tracks and rarities and is available at a budget price.

THE QUIREBOYS' latest album, "Homewreckers & Heartbreakers", was made available in stores in June 2008 via Townsend Records. The CD was mixed at Good Luck studios in London with Mark Wallis, who has previously worked with TRAVIS and U2. According to a posting on the group's web site, "this album sees the band returning to their roots with a more varied selection of styles than 'Well Oiled' [2004]."
