THY MAJESTIE Hard At Work On New Material
September 30, 2006Italian "symphonic power epic" metal band THY MAJESTIE has confirmed that it has parted ways with American singer Matt Aub (TIMELORD) and rejoined forces with Dario Grillo. "Unfortunately the exeperience with a singer in the USA didn't work," the group writes in a statement.
THY MAJESTIE is currently working on material for a new album which it hopes to record in early 2007. "We have composed six new songs. A seventh is going to be composed [soon]. At the moment we don't know which label will release the album."
THY MAJESTIE parted ways with vocalist Giulio Di Gregorio (IRENCROS) earlier in the year due to "personal reasons." The band's latest album, "Jean D'Arc", was released last fall via Scarlet Records. The follow-up to 2002's "Hastings 1066" was mastered at The Mastering Room in Sweden by Goran Finnberg.
In related news, Dario Grillo is continuing work on the new album from the Italian gothic-power metal band VIOLET SUN, led by the soprano Alessandra Amata. The group's musicial style is being described as a mixture of EVANESCENCE, NIGHTWISH, KOVENANT and LACUNA COIL.
