TIAMAT's 'Amanethes' Lands On Swedish Chart
May 8, 2008"Amanethes", the new album from TIAMAT, has entered the Swedish chart at position No. 13 TIAMAT's highest-ever chart entry in its home country.
"Amanethes" has received rave reviews in Sweden, with the major newspaper Expressen calling it "a perfect album" and giving it a rare top rating. On Kritiker.se, a web site that compiles album reviews in the biggest Swedish magazines, "Amanathes" is the highest-rated release among all national and international LPs.
"Amanethes" was produced by TIAMAT mainman Johan Edlund, and was recorded mainly at The Mansion in Greece, with additional recordings taking place at Studio Mega in Sweden and Cue in Greece. The album was mixed and mastered by Siggi Bemm in Woodhouse Studios, Germany in January 2008.
The digipack version of "Amanethes" contains the exclusive bonus track "Thirst Snake".
TIAMAT's last studio album, "Prey", was released in 2003 through Century Media.
In other news, TIAMAT bassist Anders Iwers will sit out some of the group's upcoming festival dates due to the birth of his second child. Replacing Anders for the first two shows will be Jesper Sklarin from FINGERSPITZENGEFHL.
TIAMAT has been confirmed for Artmania Festival 2008, set to take place July 18-19 in Sibiu, Romania.
