TWISTED SISTER To Rock Naples
August 26, 2003Kendra Helmer of Stars and Stripes reports that TWISTED SISTER will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday (August 30) at the Noble Roman's Field in Naples, Italy at the Gricignano support site.
After the free concert, band members will briefly sign autographs, said Sabrina Pullido, Naples USO operations manager.
The concert, which originally was slated for Vicenza, is sponsored by the United Service Organizations and Armed Forces Entertainment.
TWISTED SISTER, known for their scary makeup and big hair, sold 10 million records, earning 33 gold and platinum records in the '80s.
After a 16-year break, the glam rock band reunited in November 2001 for a benefit concert for families of those killed in the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. The band raised $100,000 for the New York City Widows and Orphans Fund.
To kick off their 2003 reunion tour, TWISTED SISTER performed for troops on a USO tour in May in South Korea. They have since performed for more than 200,000 fans around the world, according to a USO news release. Read more.
