TYGERS OF PAN TANG Back With Fresh 'Noises'
February 11, 200425 years after the emergence of the NWOBHM (New Wave of British Heavy Metal) movement, TYGERS OF PAN TANG are back with a new studio album, "Noises From The Cat House".
The album, out now on Communiqué Records, was mixed by the band's longtime producer, Chris Tsangarides, famed for his production work with, among others, JUDAS PRIEST and YNGWIE MALMSTEEN.
The current lineup of TYGERS OF PAN TANG — Robb Weir (guitar),Richie Wicks (vocals, ex-ANGEL WITCH),Craig Ellis (drums),Dean Robertson (guitar) and Brian West (bass) — has been performing since 2002 around Europe, which also spawned the recent live album and DVD, "Live in the Roar" and "Visions from the Cat House". 2004 sees the band embarking on a large European tour, and discussions are in place regarding the band visiting the U.S. and Japan.
Robb Weir formed the TYGERS back in 1977 when he was joined by Brian Dick, Rocky and Jess Cox. A very successful career followed, which also jumpstarted the careers of some of the bands members (including singer Jon Deverill, and guitarist John Sykes, who went on to play with THIN LIZZY and WHITESNAKE).
