VENOM Are Tracking Their 'Heaviest Songs' For New Studio Album

August 19, 2004

British black metal pioneers VENOM are currently in the studio recording their new album, tentatively due in early 2005. "They are recording the heaviest songs from their demo sessions for their next opus," reads a posting on the band's official web site.

VENOM's current incarnation consists of mainman Conrad "Cronos" Lant alongside drummer Antton and latest addition, guitarist Mykus. Photos of the new lineup can be viewed at this location.

In other news, VENOM — who are said to "play online games whenever they get the opportunity" — are inviting their fans to join them in a game of "Unreal Tournament 2004" via the group's own server.
