VIPER/Ex-ANGRA Vocalist ANDRÉ MATOS Sings Corinthians Soccer Anthem In Japanese (Video)

December 3, 2012

Video footage of Brazilian vocalist, keyboard player and composer André Matos (ANGRA, SHAAMAN, VIPER) singing the official anthem of Corinthians — the most popular soccer team in Sao Paulo, Brazil — in Japanese at a karaoke bar in Brazil can be seen below (courtesy of UOL Esporte).

Brazil will face Japan in the opening match of the Confederations Cup next June in Brasilia, Brazil. The eight-team tournament is considered to be a dry run for the 2014 World Cup, which Brazil will also host for the first time since 1950.

Matos released his third solo album, "The Turn Of The Lights", in August.

Matos' current solo band includes new drummer Rodrigo Silveira and bass player Bruno Ladislau — replacing Eloy Casagrande (now with SEPULTURA) and Luis Mariutti, respectively. Keyboardist Fabio Ribeiro also left the group. André's longtime collaborators, guitar players Hugo Mariutti and Andre "Zaza" Hernanades, have remained with the singer.
