June 13, 2004

MARILYN MANSON fan site Marilyn-Manson.net is hosting a two-minute video clip containing a scene from the upcoming movie "The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things", which features an appearance by a make-up-free Marilyn Manson. Also included is a short interview with Asia Argento, the Italian actress who directed the movie and played the role of a mother who takes back her son from foster parents and embarks on a series of misadventures. Check out the clip at this location (Windows Media).

As previously reported, Manson's performance in the movie earned rave reviews from author JT LeRoy, who wrote the book on which the film's based.

LeRoy said: "[Manson]'s just fantastic in this film. It's a really hard film, and it's a really hard role. People usually like their demons straight up; they don't like it when they're made sympathetic. But there's a pathetic/sympathetic thing to that character, and he really pulls it off."

"The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things" features a string of additional cameos from such performers as Winona Ryder, Peter Fonda and Ornella Muti.
