WEDNESDAY 13 Is 'Thankful' To Have Secured HOT TOPIC Deal For 'Skeletons' CD

May 6, 2008

WEDNESDAY 13 (ex-MURDERDOLLS singer) recently partnered with Hot Topic allowing the popular mall chain to become the only brick-and-mortar store in the U.S. to stock his new CD, "Skeletons".

Commented Wednesday: "First off, let me say how thankful we are about the deal we did with Hot Topic for the release of 'Skeletons'.

"My management team and I have been reading a lot of the online comments complaining that this Hot Topic isn't carrying it, or that Hot Topic isn't carrying it.

"The CD is not in EVERY Hot Topic it is in 90% of the MUSIC Hot Topic stores. Not every Hot Topic has a music section please make sure to call the store before driving over there. Make sure it is a music store ask our manager he also drove to the Hot Topic near him only to find out it was not a music Hot Topic.

"Hot Topic has been extremely supportive of the release the CD sold MUCH better then we had planned. Hot Topic placed a re-order on the first day after the sales were calculated and so did Interpunk. MerchMonster is completely sold out and will have to wait for a new pressing. Both Interpunk and Hot Topic have also requested more CDs, after the re-order, but have to wait while more get pressed.

"Hot Topic has been behind this release since the idea came to us they have placed the CD in most of the their listening stations, they are playing the CD in-store, as well as placed a healthy initial order of the CDs. By self-releasing this CD, I have now almost shipped the same amount on the streets as the last label I was with. The beauty of this is I am only shipping to three stores; Interpunk, Hot Topic and MerchMonster, while the last label were shipping nationwide to all retail/internet locations.
"I know it is a struggle for a lot of you to find the CD, or maybe some of you don't live near a Hot Topic. We are sorry for that. iTunes should have it live in the next 10 days. There was a huge mistake with the company we use for downloads.

"We will be selling 'Skeletons' on tour.

"We have not decided what we are doing with the 'Bloodwork' EP yet. It is already on iTunes and Amazon.com. I may also put it through Hot Topic exclusive, or I may do a deal and have it distributed through my manager's record label which would give it distribution through EMI. We are still weighing the options on the best plan.

"Overseas 'Skeletons' comes out on May 12th. It should be available everywhere, thanks to our licensing partner Demolition Records.

"Also please remember we are impacting at radio May 5th and 6th. Call you local station and request Wednesday 13!"
