WES BORLAND: 'Everyone Who Hated LIMP BIZKIT Before Will Continue To Hate LIMP BIZKIT'

Guitar Edge's Elliott Politte conducted an interview with LIMP BIZKIT guitarist Wes Borland at the Yamaha booth at this year's NAMM (National Association Of Music Merchants) show, which was held January 14-17, 2010 at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California. Watch the chat below.

When asked about the sound of the forthcoming LIMP BIZKIT album, "Gold Cobra", Borland replied, "I think that everyone who hated LIMP BIZKIT before will continue to hate LIMP BIZKIT. It's not like we, all of a sudden, grew up and started making smarter music. It's definitely a fun, party kind of vibe. It's a little bit like the old stuff, but with a little bit of maybe a [French electronic music duo] DAFT PUNK vibe thrown in on some of it. There's big, huge riffs and hopefully catchy lyrics."

Due this spring through Interscope/Polydor, "Gold Cobra" will be LIMP BIZKIT's first new studio album with the original lineup since 2000's "Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water". "We will slowly be revealing the meaning of the [LP] title," frontman Fred Durst told Kerrang! magazine late last year. "Cobras are quite venomous. I wish it were a much longer, more ridiculous title, but 'Gold Cobra' is as ridiculous as we're going to get right now."

Durst told NME.com, "I'm having a great feeling about going in and doing [the new LIMP BIZKIT CD], more than I have about any of our albums before. It's not going to be a watered-down version of LIMP BIZKIT, it's going to be a more explosive, more addictive, more driven version of LIMP BIZKIT."

The band's first three albums have sold more than 20 million copies in the U.S. alone, and another 13 million in the rest of the world.
