WES BORLAND's Solo CD To Sound Like Old MOTOWN Album
June 21, 2004MELLOWDRONE mastermind Jonathan Bates recently spoke to the Rock N Roll Experience web site about his work on the new solo release from former LIMP BIZKIT guitarist Wes Borland. "Wes is a really sweet friend of mine and he played me some of his new stuff and it's amazing. It reminds me of old PJ Harvey," Bates explained. Asked to elaborate, Jonathan said, "It's like more Motown than anything else. We recorded it live and we rehearsed it and it's like when you listen to an old Motown record, you can't really classify it, it's just...it's not very heavy, but it is, I don't know, I'm sounding like an idiot, but it's not heavy, there's a lot of space in it, it's so simple, it's complicated."
