WOE OF TYRANTS Putting Finishing Touches On 'Fangs' Video

January 21, 2009

Ohio's WOE OF TYRANTS is putting the finishing touches on the video for the song "Break The Fangs Of The Wicked". Look for the clip to debut next month.

WOE OF TYRANTS will hit the road in support of its Metal Blade debut, "Kingdom of Might", which was released upon on January 6. Support on current dates up to February 13 will come from ADVERSARY, BROTHER VON DOOM and DESTROY DESTROY DESTROY. Starting February 20 in South Bend, Indiana, WOE OF TYRANTS will head out with labelmates PSYOPUS plus BURNING THE MASSES and SALT THE WOUND.

A brand new track off "Kingdom of Might", "Sounding Jerusalem", is available for streaming on the group's MySpace page.

WOE OF TYRANTS vocalist Chris Catanzaro commented on the lyrical themes of "Kingdom of Might": "While many of you have grown to expect highly abstract concepts for our songs and records, we've taken this album to a different style of writing that is a bit easier to digest lyrically than our previous work. The main theme, while Christian based in influence, barely goes into specific stories from the bible. I chose to write it this way due to the fact that we do not label ourselves a Christian band, and I by no means am here to tell anyone that I have the whole world figured out. This album is meant merely to express a respect for the force that can create everything we see, hear and digest. To encourage people to consider their lives, consider anything and everything, as opposed to just remaining lethargic. Upon doing so, it's my hope that someone might develop a peace with the truths in which they discover, and if nothing else find something within our record that leads them to improving their life as opposed to the common 'metal' message of destroying it."

According to a press release, WOE OF TYRANTS is "comprised of five guys dead-set on playing metal the way they want to, never listening or caring what scene they belong to or what sells the most records; who mix the best of death, thrash, and power metal in a concoction that defies pigeon-holing. Mix the vintage sounds of TESTAMENT and METALLICA, brutal death metal, epic power metal, and even some southern fried flair thrown on top, and you have what has become known as WOE OF TYRANTS."
