WOLFMOTHER Frontman Gets Into Bar Altercation
August 22, 2007The Pulse of Radio (formerly Launch Radio Networks) reports: WOLFMOTHER frontman Andrew Stockdale had to be restrained during an altercation in a Brisbane, Australia bar late last week, according to Drowned in Sound. Stockdale was apparently "getting friendly" with several women in the establishment when one of them used her cell phone to take a photo of him in what was described as a "compromising position." Stockdale asked for the woman's phone so that he could delete the picture, but ended up getting angry and finally violent with a male fan who was also present at the time. The singer and guitarist was grabbed by hotel security and escorted back to his room.
There's no word on whether Stockdale actually managed to delete the picture.
WOLFMOTHER released its self-titled debut album in 2006. The song "Woman" won a Grammy in February for Best Hard Rock Performance, marking the first time an Australian act had won a Grammy in 25 years.
The trio performed at the Sydney Live Earth concert on July 7 and is said to be working on material for its sophomore CD.
