WRAITH OF THE ROPES: New Album Preview Available

October 17, 2006

Hamilton, Ohio-based WRAITH OF THE ROPES has posted an MP3 preview of its upcoming second album, "Demonic Influence", at the group's official web site. Check out a three-minute sample of the song "Wraith of the Ropes" at this location. An early 2007 release via Firebox Music is expected.

Regarding the musical direction of the new material, the band previously said, "The music we have written for this album is a huge leap forward from our debut. We believe it retains the essence of what WRAITH OF THE ROPES is about, so the music will still appeal to fans of the first album. The music is still all about horror and immersive dark atmospheres. The drastically improved songwriting, production quality, and musical execution will draw many more people into our music. The album may also surprise (and possibly convert) many people who didn't get into the first album. It has been said before that this next album wont be doom metal... well, it will appeal to many fans of doom and is actually much more doom than our first album in some ways. . . A good portion of the album is quite slow and crushing, with much much heavier riffs than anything on the first album. The album is very dynamic and eclectic though, with many very up-tempo sections as well."
