YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Singer Checks In From the Road
June 22, 2005YNGWIE MALMSTEEN frontman Doogie White has posted the following update from the group's current European tour:
"Now the challenge when sitting in a foreign country using a keyboard with strange and unusual letters is to not throw the damn thing off the wall. Everyone is hovering trying to use the one computer and start grumbling audibly when you appear to take too long. So they can just wait as I give you all a short update.
"Since I last checked in, we have been travelling on the bus to a great many cities. Katovitsie in Poland was superb. We had the previous day off and wandered round the town. Strange but I feel compelled to tell you I had ostrich for lunch and it was really quite splendid. My home town of Motherwell always draws Katovitsie if we make it into Europe with the football. Of course we always go out to our Polish friends. The crew and fans knew this and I got quite a bit of stick from them. The gig itself was awesome. Yngwie during soundchecks has been playing the theme tune from 'Halloween' and it is really quite menacing. So it was good to hear it included in the set during 'Trilogy'.
"Today we are in Slovakia having played last night in Budapest. Pictures will be added after the tour, I forgot to install the programme to download from my camera... I can say no more at the moment as the ever impatient teaming hoards are gathering with pitchforks and what looks like a noose....goodbye dear friends till next time..."
As previously reported, Spitfire Records has set a July 26 North American release date for the new YNGWIE MALMSTEEN album, "Unleash the Fury". The CD was released in Japan in February.
