Much like labelmates PRIMER 55, Chicago's RELATIVE ASH are a second-rate act who were snapped up in an attempt to capitalize on the current popularity of the so-called "pimprock" / rapcore movement, and their full-length debut is a generic, derivative affair that brings to mind early DEFTONES (circa Adrenaline). Produced more than adequately by Steve Thompson (i.e. KORN, GUNS N' ROSES, METALLICA),this is about as unoriginal as it gets, with predictable, quiet-verse-loud-chorus arrangements and whiney, annoying vocals that do nothing to add to the group's otherwise uninspired-sounding material. Some credit should be given for the above-average musicianship and the few-and-far-between intense musical moments, but on the whole, Our Time With You is nothing to write home about.
