TALISMAN To Record New CD In Italy
September 2, 2002Legendary Swedish/American hard rock act TALISMAN, featuring former YNGWIE MALMSTEEN members Jeff Scott Soto (vocals) and Marcel Jacob (bass),will travel to Italy next week to begin recording their new studio album, due in early 2003 through Frontiers Records. While in Italy, TALISMAN will also be appearing at the EUROPE Convention in Parma with ex-EUROPE skinsman Ian Haugland sitting in on drums as a special guest (regular TALISMAN drummer Jaimie Borger has to return to Sweden prior to the show).
In related news, Soto is rumored to be performing with QUEEN guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor at an after-party for QUEEN's Hollywood Walk Of Fame star presentation on October 18th. Jeff will also be appearing at the UK QUEEN Convention with LEROY BROWN in front of over 2,000 QUEEN fans. More information will be announced soon.
Also on the Soto front, Frontiers Records will be issuing a solo EP from the singer, entitled Holding On, on October 7th.
Holding On will include an exclusive studio version of the JOURNEY classic "Send Her My Love", plus two live tracks recorded at the Gods Festival in Bradford, UK on June 2nd — "Again 2 Be Found" and "Stand Up". The EP shall also include the song "4 U", taken from the first Jeff Scott Soto solo album, Love Parade, and the exclusive interactive MPG video of "Holding On".
Jeff Scott Soto's new solo full-length album, entitled Prism, will be released through Frontiers Records on November 11th.
